Firstly, a great story is a delight, whatever the age you happen to be.
Hence why I always try to write books that will generally appeal to both children and adults. This seems to be confirmed by all the other grown ups I know who enjoy quite a few of the books they read with their children or who relish spending Sunday afternoon lounging about on the sofa, watching exactly the same films as them.
Secondly, if you go to the trouble of writing a book, you might as well make it look its best.
I firmly believe in books as one of the few things that last a lifetime. I love my iPad to bits and reading things on them is almost as much fun as reading a real book. But not quite. It then follows that we do solemnly undertake to always publish books in as beautiful editions that we can afford at the time. The upshot is that I hope if you are lucky enough to own a Monster Books book, then you’ll be in a position to cherish it for many a year – or at least feel fairly virtuous about giving them to relatives and good friends.
